Armed Protest - 02-20-2026 - Littleton, Colorado

At the southeast corner of Sante Fe Drive and Bowles Ave in Littleton Colorado, two men showed up to protest ICE and DHS actions.
Michael and Aiden are organizers of a group called “Front Range Carry Protesting”, with the stated principle of “Non-partisan … our only loyalty is to constitutional rights and accountability.
Armed with a M1 Garand rifle and a Berretta 92FS they met on the corner at 3:30 pm.
The M1 Garand was a Canadian designed semi-automatic rifle, with internal 8 round magazine, chambered in .30-06. Notably the Garand was the standard issue rifle for the United States during World War II, and into the Korean War, before being replaced by the M-14 rifle in 1957.
The Berretta 92FS is a civilian version of the United states military M9 pistol. The 92FS is a semi-automatic pistol, chambered in 9mm Luger, usually equipped with a 15 round detachable magazine. The M9 pistol served the US military after the Vietnam War, and all through GWOT, until being replaced by the SIG P320 / M17 and M18 pistols adopted in 2017.
With a yellow chamber-flag (a safety device that indicates a firearm is unloaded) in his 80+ year old Garand, Michael stated that he chose to carry the weapon empty because he did not want to scare or intimidate any of the motorist.
Likewise, Aiden with his holstered Berretta was also unloaded.
Both men had loaded magazines and En Bloc clips on them, which could be used to load the weapon in short order.
When I asked why they chose to protest caring firearms, Michael explained that “There’s a lot of stuff to protest right now”.
When asked as to the less-popular location, day-of-the-week, and time of their protest, Michael explained that they were new to armed protests, and to organizing. That he wanted to do their first protest somewhere a little low-key, somewhere not in the heart of a deep red county.
By choosing this date and location, they could figure out how it’s done. Something of a test-run before moving on to larger or high-profile protests.
